I know there is wave of thinking that says meetings are out of style; that people are too busy to come together for meals and fellowship. I think just the opposite and one look at this busy schedule will illustrate this for you.
In January, the McFarland Optimist Club:
- Honored Grant Gilbertson as the High School Senior of the Month
- Presented donations from the community to the Food Pantry
- Introduced HospiceCare to the Club
- Thanked the Basketball Boosters for working at the Youth Center concession stand
- Made decisions to donate more than $2,000 to other youth serving organizations
- Helped a long-time member celebrate her 60th birthday
- Announced the meeting and event schedule for February and March
